Jesus Freak

Anne Askew was imprisoned and greatly torchured for her faith. Placed on a cruel rack, her joints and bones were pulled out of place. She fainted from the pain, but when she regained conciousness, she preached for two hours to her tormentors.
On the day of her execution, she was carried to the stake in a chair because her bones were dislocated and she couldn't walk. At the last moment, she was offered the king's pardon if she would recant. She said: "I did not come here today to deny my Lord and Master." She died praying for her murderers in the midst of the flames.

This was taken from the book 'Jesus Freaks'.

Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it. What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul? Or what can a man give in exchange for his soul? If anyone is ashamed of me and my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the son of man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his Father's glory with the holy angels."

Mark 8:34-38

And yet so many here are afraid to share their faith... makes you think.
